Yanet and Jandy Wedding 2.16.08

Most often Alex gets to shoot getting ready photos of a bunch of girls getting their hair and make-up done. As a woman, I can totally get into that experience, it's fun and relaxing to be pampered especially with your closest friends. But I guess there is a ceiling-effect on how much Alex can get into that (being a guy and all). So this past wedding was a fun spin on things, since he got to spend a lot of time with the groom, Jandy, and his boys getting ready. Alex got back in time for Yanet to get dressed. Here are some shots of the boys being boys. Alex had a blast being able to hang out with the guys for a change. Now, back to the ladies - I never cease to be amazed at how many women it takes to get one dress on - it was the same at our wedding. Here is Jandy - saying 'I do'... I think that Jandy's dance with his mother was one of the most emotional mother-son dances I've seen in a while. He's a really nice guy, though - she obviously has a lot to be proud of. Look at the love here - I love how when couples dance their first dance, they always appear to be so comfortable and natural. But really, how often do any of us dance intimately in front of a giant group of people? And finally - I am pleased to bring you - Yanet and Jandy....married.

Time Stops at Grand Central

So I told you that I would mostly blog about wedding stuff on here - but this is one of the cooler you tube clips I've seen in a while...ENJOY - Shaleen.

Melissa and Chris 2.9.08 - Part 2

I realize that I'm running out of ways to talk about how beautiful this night was - really everything. Part 2 of the sneak peek from Melissa and Chris' wedding are photos of the ceremony and reception. This is at the Little Flower, an ornate historic church near the Biltmore in Coral Gables. The style of the church was very suiting with the elegant wedding that Melissa designed. Melissa and Chris practically transformed the Ocean Club into a stylish lounge. Every detail was draped in crystal and white. Check out the romance here... Check out the Ocean Club at night. This next shot was taken outside by the pool at the club, it was very, very dark - but I think it has that look of a stolen moment, you know? This last photo is just wonderful - all of Melissa and Chris' family and friends danced all night. I love this shot of Melissa's mom dancing with Chris. Melissa's mom and Chris' parents were so amazing - they were so concerned about making sure that Alex and I were enjoying the wedding. I don't see how we couldn't enjoy the wedding - even though we were working it was so fun!

Melissa and Chris 2.9.08 - Part 1

This past Saturday we shot the wedding of Melissa and Chris. It was awesome. I had such a great time. Melissa got ready at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne with her mom, sister and bridesmaids. Her ceremony was at the Little Flower in Coral Gables and the reception was at the Ocean Club in Key Biscayne. I'm going to post their pictures in two parts - here is Part 1: Getting Ready Melissa's dress was a gorgeous lace gown that fit her beautifully and then had a lovely flare at the bottom - very elegant. I know that she was starting to get nervous, but you would never tell from this photo. She was wrapped up in her thoughts as the time was drawing nearer. How beautiful.... She was absolutely stunning...

Veronica & Nick

Saturday we shot engagement portraits for Veronica and Nick. They were a natural in front of the camera - they totally let themselves forget that we were there. You can see it in the photos - they were completely into each other. I love this trend lately of wearing hot shoes. Beach sunsets are always romantic - but the flare from the sun here is amazing. They are glowing! Alex told them to get close to each other and just talk. When a couple is really in love they can forget the world and the photographer nearby. Veronica and Nick will tie the knot at the end of February - so you can expect more in just a little while!
